Fenix TK41 FlashlightWith the revolutionary Cree XM-L LED and 800-lumens brightness, the Fenix TK41 high-performance flashlight is ideal for outdoor hunting, exploring, search and rescue, and a host of other extreme outdoor adventures. The TK41 provides an extremely bright long-throwing beam that extends for up to 470 meters, plenty long enough to light the path ahead. The TK41 also produces four output levels: turbo (800 lumens), which runs for over two hours on a set of eight AA batteries; high (335 lumens, over 7 hours); mid (108 lumens, 27 hours), and low (10 lumens, 240 hours). As a result, users have plenty of lighting options for any scenario. Users can even use the light as a strobe, with two strobe settings: strobe and SOS. The build of the flashlight is also important, with a durable aircraft-grade aluminum body coated with a premium Type III hard-anodized, anti-abrasive finish. The construction--which also includes a toughened ultra-clear glass lens with an anti-reflective coating--helps the light hold up to all kinds of abuse. Other features include intelligent memory circuitry that memorizes the last primary output when activating the light; a digitally regulated output; convenient dual switch system on the side; and accessories such as a shoulder strap, lanyard, rubber switch boot, and two spare O-rings. The TK41, which also stands on a flat surface to serve as a candle, carries a limited lifetime warranty..../ Fenix TK41 Flashlight / flashlight

Fenix TK41 FlashlightThe Fenix TK41 is powerful, tough, and compact , making it an ideal choice for outdoor searching, caving, or using as a spare light in vehicles.

The Fenix TK41 offers 4 brightness levels and 2 strobe modes.
The flashlight, which runs on eight AA batteries, is equipped with a Cree XM-L LED bulb with a lifespan of 50,000 hours. The bulb's digitally regulated beam maintains a constant brightness during your activity, so you won't have to deal with a dimming light while you search. In the process, the TK41 produces four brightness levels: low (10 lumens), which runs for up to 240 hours; mid (108 lumens, 27 hours); high (335 lumens, 7 hours 15 minutes); and turbo (800 lumens, 2 hours 10 minutes). Add in two flashing functions--strobe and SOS--and you have a light that can meet your illuminating needs unconditionally.

The flashlight is well built, with a durable aircraft-grade aluminum body coated with a premium Type III hard-anodized, anti-abrasive finish. The construction--which also includes a toughened ultra-clear glass lens with an anti-reflective coating--helps the light hold up to all kinds of abuse. Other features include reverse polarity protection, a dual switch system in the front, a waterproof housing (to IPX-8 standard), and a neck lanyard for easy transport.

exquisite light with some minor flaws : Fenix TK41 Flashlight

This is one of the two brightest handheld lights I own, and compared to the Stanley Hid spotlight it shares that title with, it's much lighter, more convenient, can be turned down when you don't need to barbecue wild game at 50 feet, the spot and throw is better, and it takes readily-available, easily-replaceable batteries.

There's indubitably microscopic not to like. Yes, $100+ is a good chunk of change for a flashlight, but when you need night-cutting power, this thing is worth the money. And it's much less than some comparable lighting I've seen. Even my Stanley Hid was $70 and it doesn't have the features this thing does.

It seems to be well-made, though I have not subjected it to any drop tests or subdued any assailants after blinding them or anything. (And I have no doubt it would temporarily blind them; the strobe feature on high in my house gave me a sick :)

Since I'm not a frequent user of the light, and don't keep it plugged into a charger, I've filled it with Sanyo Eneloop low-self-discharge NiMh batteries. The Dc-Dc converter in the light runs just fine on them, and I can leave it sitting for 6 months or more and still have a usable flashlight when I need it. I looked for hours to find a keen light that didn't take some extra Li-ion battery; thank you Fenix for making one! Note that Fenix recommends you unscrew the headpiece a few turns to preclude some sort of trickle current from draining the batteries (I guess that is maybe for remembering your last mode, or powering the "soft" button switch electronics).

The flashlight comes in a sturdy plastic case, and with spare O-rings. The O-rings are a nice touch, as once you go straight through the supplied ones you can probably replace them at a hardware store if need be. The case is nice, too. While I doubt I'll use it, it probably did safe the light during shipping as Amazon Once Again laid it directly on the bottom of the box with no padding. Grr.

The only minor improvements I'd make would be a "hard" switch or other mechanism to totally disconnect battery power (or drop that trickle current into the uA range), and maybe a lens and adjustable beam like my microscopic Nebos have. Trivial quibbles, though. A fine product.
